Monsoon season in India heralds the upcoming festivities among the Hindus, starting with the colourful and vivacious festival of HariyaliTeej. Ladies Club at Shubhkamna apartments,Sector- 50 celebrated the festival with great joy and enthusiasm on the evening of 12 August.
Ladies of Shubhkamna dressed in the cheerful colours of yellow and green filled the air with warmth and vigour. The stage was aptly decorated in similar colours that matched the vibe of the celebration. Each guest was presented with a welcome gift and a drink. The event kicked off with a beautiful dance by little Yashaswi on Shiv Aradhna.
It was followed by a group rendering of the Teej folk songs along the sweet beats of a dholak by the senior members. Next we were entertained by a catchy solo song performance, which was then followed by a thrilling game with balloons to engage the audience. A small comic skit had the audience falling off chairs in laughter.
Next, another but no less, solo song performance captivated all listeners. A special version of Tambola was played and appreciated. The highlight of the celebration was the selection of the Teej Queen, where Chavvi Gupta from flat no. A-702 was the clear winner.
The last leg of the celebration included a semi-classical solo dance performance on the melodious song, “Mohe rang do laal” from movie Bajirao Mastani. The grand finale was the well-coordinated group dance on a medley of current hits like “Jhumka gira re”, “Sanwariya” and more.
The evening culminated with all the guests shaking a leg on the dance floor and enjoying flavourful servings of ghevar, mysore halwa and south Indian delicacies.
