Tale Of TwoKitties – Part 2

Next came feeding. I suggested, “Cats love milk… since I was a child, they have been known to sneak into kitchens for milk that is left to cool after boiling.” “No, mom,” stomped my highly
educated daughter. “Don’t you know they are lactose intolerant!” Wow! What about all the cats I have seen with my own eyes, lapping up milk from pans in kitchens…while my mom (before marriage) and mother in law (after marriage) yelled and screamed and chased them away! “I have been reading up a lot …no milk…neither for the mom nor babies…only good quality cat food, preferably ‘Tuna flavour’!!” “Alright then order and take care. She’s your baby now.” “Of course, mom, she is pregnant, needs a good diet and of course a shiny coat. She is our cat!”

Cat food (tuna flavour) was ordered and Meowth’s visits increased and with every doorbell she would be inside our home. She would scratch doors, sofas, chairs…everything that was not supposed to be even touched, she scratched! ‘No’ meant nothing to her…how much I fondly remembered my dogs who however frisky, almost always obeyed. No meant No. but for Meowth No meant No obedience. She walked past me with the aura of an African lion…Don’t mess with me!

And then I had my ‘Eureka’ moment…the great discovery and solution… that the only thing she was scared of, was my water spray bottle. The mere lifting up of the bottle and the sound of spray…psssst, would make her run for her life!! Soon it was clear, my kids had not adopted her, she had adopted us and our home! She came and went when she pleased, with the only relief that my spray bottle was my weapon that gave me courage and power to show her out.

The above is a true account by the writer. Watch this interesting series unfold in the coming months.
