As we all witnessed ‘Bheeshan Garmi’ has broken all the records this summer. PRWS tried providing the residents some relief for a while by getting cooling and dust mitigation sprinkling in A Block Extn. In order to pull through this extreme heat people have been devising their own cooling mechanisms. From black out curtains, to an additional layer of blinds or even glass films, anything to keep the blazing sun out. Residents have also been trying to figure ways of improving the cooling; be it by adding a cooler, a humidifier or even tedious calibration of the humble fan to find the sweet spot between air circulation and cooling; all stones have been turned to get some degree of respite.The ones with complete power back-up could count their blessings, while others were being painfully taught a lesson in supply and demand by DHVBN. A few aggrieved residents even opted to check into hotel rooms or neighborhood guest houses, just so they could get a good night’s sleep.
