Teej was celebrated by Sushant Lok Ladies with full pomp and show on the 9th August 23′. As per plan, we all celebrated this festival of colour and enthusiasm with dance, music, games, good food and lots of Ghevar!
The celebrations started around 4 pm at Bikanervala Party Hall which was booked for the event and all the ladies came dressed in Indian ethnic attires and danced to Saawan songs together. There was a prize for members who turned up on time too! Those who came early were added to a lucky draw and the winner was given a handbag!
The group had choreographed the performances and worked hard to put together a show for everyone present. The ladies danced to songs like ‘Kajra Mohabbat Wala’, ‘Gallan Gudiyan’ and the latest one ‘What Jhumka!’
The choreography was performed by 11 ladies of all age groups, some were young and some were not so young. Dance practices happened for almost a month and the practices were done in an empty basement and it was party time post the practices 3 times a week.
The performances were followed by a prize distribution ceremony and of course some delicious Marwari food and sumptuous desserts! All participants were given return gifts that had 2 different kinds of Ghevar and a hair Gajra.
It was the first of its kind function in A block and a successful one..after which we are encouraged to do a Dandiya night on the Navmi day 23rd Oct 23′ and have already taken bookings of more than 100 people! Cheers to the Sushant Lok Ladies Club!
