The year 2024 seems quite important in the lives of the Indians in general because of the elections, which provided the opportunity to exercise their rights, and so for the residents of Sushant Lok, as they are also gearing up for the RWA elections soon.
Many candidates have approached the residents on different fronts to advertise their eligibility for the post they are standing for, and others have done so with sweet words and promises. The general agenda is to get the lanes clean, no construction after six, water pipeline repair, sewer line distilling, street light repair, CCTV, and speed breakers in strategic positions. Some went ahead and offered to initiate steps to face monkey terror and maintain the parks.
There are many suggestions and fascinating offers, but how they would be carried out, no one is explaining. Some candidates tried to respond, saying that once the GC is formed and positions are allotted, the strategy will appear, and residents are getting worked up that the same saga of the photo shop will be repeated. We can only hope and pray that an efficient committee is selected that does its job briskly and dextrously.
The elections were proposed to be done on March 17, but some objections were raised by one group of present RWA members against others, for which the RO postponed the election date. Some are of the opinion that the candidates who have already been in the position a number of times should pass it on to others and not go for contesting; some have projected their relatives for the same post after them; some are determined to contest and win as the other is a woman and a first-timer; these are some issues that are bothering the residents.
The basic things that the GC will be expected to do are to update the members’ list and keep the fiscal transactions transparent; to take everyone along on the path of development of Sushant Lok. The present SLRWA has done an excellent job and definitely brought the machinery to a better place than before. Kudos to them for tackling such a big task, and we hope the coming one will go a notch farther. Together, we will make Sushant Lok a green, breathable, and amicable place that we call home!
