Lohri, a Punjabi festival to celebrate the new crop and a rich harvest, was enjoyed with great festivity. Saturday night was an authentic evening of Punjabi folk music, dhol and excitement. The bonfire was cosy, warm and comforting in the chill winter evening. There was a large spread of festival food – peanuts, popcorn, revari, gachchak. As is the custom, peanuts, popcorn and revari are offered to the fire god. Everyone put in their offerings. This gala fun bonanza was followed by a sumptuous dinner. People in large numbers rejoiced together with bonhomie and dance.
