When we shifted to Suncity in the year 2004, it was a newly built and developed complex. Hardly 2-3 hundred families, newly planted trees and parks and the Aravalli were visible from anywhere in this colony. The most important thing was we all residents were connected to each other and visited each other. Very cohesive environment. It will be a surprise that, to date, I have never used SRWA or QRT or our group platform to solve any problem with my neighbours! We talk to each other and resolve our issues. We still exchange greetings with each other.
Now Suncity has become a large complex with so many independent houses, floors etc. It has now become cosmopolitan. Good development but the major causality is the cohesiveness, togetherness and social connectedness!
Someone (a neighbour) parks a car or any other vehicle in front of our home. We don’t bother to request our neighbour to remove it but straight away a photo and message appear on the Whatsapp group to remove the vehicle! It’s good to take care of pets but the neighbour’s front is not a poo place! Wishing each other is a thing of the past! Our whats app group has become “Panipat Ki ladai ka maidan”. We write anything without realizing that it can affect anyone’s sentiments. Writing messages in capital letters amounts to shouting but we keep on at it.
We all are living together and our actions and behaviors affect each other. It’s community living and choosing a neighbor is not a choice! If you can’t help, don’t be a pain. The colony becomes livable and wonderful not by its buildings but by the people who live in it!
Let’s all of us together and make this place one of the best not by the price of our houses but because good people live here.
