There are many things we associate summer with but for children, there are two things that stand out the most, mangoes and summer holidays! A month full of fun and no studies is what many expect the holidays to be.
But the reality is a stark contrast to this especially for students in classes 11 and 12.
For high school students, summer holidays are not months where they can relax. For them, it’s a time away from school where they can focus on the important and necessary things on their path to get accepted into a good college.
Different students have different goals they want to achieve in the holidays. I want to prepare for my papers right after the summer holidays and create a good enough base for my CUET preparation. On the other hand, there are students in my stream who will be going out with their families to get well rested mentally.
We also have the extreme case of science students who are preparing for their JEE AND NEET examinations and want to study every day & night to utilize this month to the fullest. There are students who have given their boards examinations already too; those wanting to go outside are applying to all kinds of universities till they get accepted to one of their liking.
Many Commerce students are also giving many entrance exams to open more options.
All in all, while it is important to relax your mind and spend time with family, the summer break provides a rare opportunity to get your academics back on track and focus on your career.
