A few weeks back, Sudha Murthy came to my school!! We, the students of Grades 3 and 6, got to meet her!! We were all excited when we came to know that she would be coming to our school.
Most of us had heard about her. Some of us, who had read stories written by her for children, felt great when our friends were after us to tell them some stories. We were informed that we could buy her book online and get it signed by her. Instructions were given by school, for our parents, on how to buy so that we have her signature.
The excitement with which we waited for the day of her arrival was fun and interesting when I think of it now.
On 10 December morning, it was a great feeling when Sudha Murthy started speaking to us. She started by asking the names of those who were sitting in the front. She got friendly and comfy, and started telling us her story.
I don’t remember properly, but she told us abouther siblings. They were sisters. But the main point I noted was that her mom thought she would be a good writer. Her mom made her write a few lines everyday and she loved writing. Then by and by she started writing books.
It was by this incident she told us that I saw where she got the inspiration of writing about her dog, Gopi. Since I have a dog too and writing about dogs is real fun and good to write, I liked listening to what this author of children stories told us.
Well, that’s all for now; I wish to write good stories some day!!
