Government needs to Urgently Start an Awareness Campaign
Last month few people including children playing Badminton in the colony park got the shock of their lives as they saw a tall gentleman walking on the jogging track suddenly collapse and fell to the ground as if his knees have melted. People rushed to the man lying lifeless on the path and frantically tried to revive him. The person accompanying the man quickly called home for help, a call for ambulance wasted 15 minutes and finally he was somehow taken to the hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
Just a day earlier I had seen a video of a stage performer in the role of Shri Hanuman, in a Ram Lila being performed on the Eve of Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha, collapsed similarly on stage, the actor playing the role of Shri Ram bent down to bless him, thinking he has knelt down to seek his blessings. When there were no response actors on stage realized that the man was lying lifeless and on shaking did not respond. It was later discovered that he had a sudden heart failure.
One has heard of many such unexplained deaths among the 35+ age groups, especially after Covid. There are talks of Long Covid and its impact on the heart, videos abound on Social-Media talking of conspiracy theories about long term effects of Covid Vaccines and Booster dose. The thought of losing a loved one instills a sense of insecurity in today’s already stressed times.
An awareness campaign and a Government Advisory on the type of tests needed to ascertain effects of Covid, will go a long way in soothing nerves of large section of society and for people to lead a stress-free life.
