Essel Tower has an underground tank from where the water is pumped to the overhead tanks of seven courts. The total number of overhead tanks is 27. When the maintenance was handed over to ETRWA, these tanks did not have any level indicator or control. Pumps start and stop was being done manually by 3 pump operators in each shift based on manual level checks in the overhead tanks. This used to result in tanks overflow many times, especially at night resulting in water loss, power loss as well as risk to operators who used to climb up the tanks from the terrace.
Due to these reasons, ETRWA technical team under the guidance of Dr Brij Gupta, looked into several options of finding the right type of level indicators and alarm in the pump room at reasonable cost.
After extensive survey, we finally decided to install Aquabrim’s wireless water level indicator device which is based on the latest wireless technology in this segment. This is a very helpful device to monitor the water level of multiple tanks remotely in a centralized manner which helps to manage the water needs of the building premises. It not only gives the real time water level data but also alerts on several occasions which could be the low level of the water tank, full level indication and overflow’s audio and visual alert which not only helps to save the energy but also saves the water which is a precious resource on this earth.
With a nominal project cost of Approx Rs. 2.5 Lac, this state-of-the-art technology ensured precise monitoring of water levels, enhancing efficiency and promoting sustainability within our premises. This device was satisfactorily installed and commissioned in all of our overhead tanks and has been in operation now for the past three months. With this device in use, we were able to reduce manpower and water loss, giving us a payback of just 8 months. The system exemplifies Essel Tower’s commitment to excellence and environmental stewardship. Through real-time monitoring and display, our residents and staff can now easily track water usage and optimize conservation efforts.
