In lieu of the hectic preparation for the upcoming G-20 summit to be held in Delhi in September MCD started a campaign to pick up stray dogs from various localities of Delhi. This caused utter chaos and scare amongst the various animal lovers in the colony. Animal groups and various other social groups were bombarded with messages against this campaign. Some proactive animal loving residents of the colony and animal right activist from other colonies went to court against this order by MCD and got a stay on it. Compelling the MCD to withdraw this order. This was a big relief to everyone who have devoted their life for these stray animals.
