A worried and affected GK2 resident

Being a regular visitor of Tikona park Gk2, be it for my every morning yoga session or the evening walk, I have been observing the increasing number of stray dogs in that park. There used to be a time when one would spot them there very rarely. Now there are always a few roaming around. They play around shredding things like soiled diapers, sanitary pads, cloth bags, balls, etc, and making a mess on the grass. People do feel scared walking in the park.
My real worry over them started with an episode that happened to me very recently.
I am a student at the Dilli Ki Yogshala free classes, that happens daily at 7 am in Tikona park. I usually reach 15 minutes before class time to be able to take 2 to 3 rounds of the track. To secure my spot in the front row, I spread out my yoga mat, on a bedsheet, on the grass before I take my rounds. Been doing that for the last 6 months now. I had done the same on that particular day as well.
To my utter horror and disgust, as I was completing my first round, I saw 2 stray dogs had attacked my sheet and yoga mat. They had managed to rip apart one entire part of the sheet. Thankfully, the yoga mat, due to the nature of its material, did not incur much damage. The dogs had put their dirty paw marks all over my yoga mat. Both the dogs looked very healthy and well fed. Their teeth and the look in their eyes were scary enough. Thankfully, a fellow classmate, who had also just arrived and witnessed the damage being done, helped me shoo away the dogs and salvage my yoga mat and bedsheet.
The issue that I am trying to bring to the notice of the authorities here is that this increasing number of stray dogs has become a security threat to our colony and to our society at large. Whatever has happened to me could very well happen to a small child, whose toys could just catch the fancy of these stray dogs, and they could attack the toy and the kid too. These dogs are being fed and protected by animal lover groups without keeping these downsides in mind. Dogs are hunters by nature but when they don’t need to fend for their food, they’ll put their energy onto different things and attack things and people could be some of them. I would request the RWA to approach the authorities to help protect the citizens from such danger.
