Horor of stray dog bites continues as yet another part-time helper was brutally bitten by a stray dog in K-14. The bite is so gruesome that one of the hospitals suggested surgery, however, the lady’s family decided to take her to Safdarjung Hospital for the treatment. Besides the treatment of the physical wound, the trauma she has to deal with is more difficult.
This is the 5th incident of a dog attack within a week. One incident each in N, J and L blocks, one in the central arcade and this K block incident is the 5th one. As much as we empathize with homeless strays, we also agree we cannot just accept it as another norm and move on. Some action is required to control such wild attacks. Authorities must step up and take measures to ensure that the number of strays per colony is controlled and their health is under check.
