It’s Impossible to Secure an Open sector Like Ours
Since our sector is open from all sides it is very security prone and it’s almost impossible to make it absolutely secure sector. We have security guards stationed at the open entry gates but they can at most monitor the vehicles coming in and going out. Mischief mongers in all sorts of guise enter the sector at will. They strike and run away without being noticed.
However, on 5 Feb three guys entered a house in the sector from Jaipuria side. They were spotted entering the house by a chaiwala. He called the cops and informed them that some strangers had entered the house. Cops came instantly. The three boys seeing the cops tried to run by climbing our Editor Charu Jain’s house. Two were caught but one managed to run away. This has left Jain household pretty scared.
Hearing of these incidents Sharmila Maity (D 60B) posted the following message: On 12 Jan a few strangers were inside and around the car behind Jaipuria. They were smoking and drinking and that too during day time. I called the security; Mr Abhay was on duty no security guard turned up. Not only that earlier in the morning (7 am) Beggars came inside the sector and started begging. Stranger dressed as PANDIT, came inside the sector and started begging. Brother of Mrs. Vermani (D – 60 / A) scolded him and asked him to leave the place.
We see strange vendors doing rounds of the sector as bartan sellers, carpet sellers, shawl walas, blind makers etc.
There is a blind man with a small child who is a regular visitor for the last many years and many residents patronize him every time he is there.
With so many strangers it’s difficult to analyse between a genuine vendor and a thief or robber in different disguise. RWCS should take the help of the police and decide to close all gates and just keep one gate open each in all four directions, which will improve the working of the sector security network. This is what happened during covid time when perforce all gates except one were closed and RWCS managed to do a great job then.
