STP Pipeline Underway
Malibu Towne

STP Pipeline Underway

During the frequent plantations at the Jharsa Bandh 2 years ago, we got to interact with Mr. Subash Yadav who was the Additional CEO of GMDA and also the DFO at the time.

He was also holding the additional charge of MCG and informed us that we could get Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) pipelines to our various parks for watering, thereby reducing our dependence on fresh water.

Thus started a series of long letters and requests to MCG to connect all the parks of Malibu Towne with pipelines from STP for the same. Malibu Towne also went through a major water crisis 2 years back resulting in the Malibu Federation pushing the MCG/ GMDA for an additional water supply line to the township. All efforts to save water every which way were made by the Federation, to avert a similar crisis in future. After two years of tracking and following up the files from one department to the other, with hundreds of phone calls plus visits to the MCG office; it was only after the third time it was put out by the MCG, that the tender got approved. It had been rejected twice before as the parameters were not being met by the contractors.

Finally, we got the news we had been waiting for; that the tender was approved and a work order had been issued on 07/08/2024 by MCG to start the work with immediate effect. Inauguration for the work was done on 17/08/2024 along with our horticulture and other supervisory team. Digging work is going at a quick pace and pipelines are being laid to connect them to green belts and parks. The work is expected to be completed in a month. This will help in saving huge amounts of fresh water which is becoming increasingly precious. Our parks will also thrive on the STP water which is considered highly nutritious for plants. A win-win situation.

Malibu RWA Federation is pleased to take the township a step closer towards sustainability. Many other works are in the pipeline and we hope to get them executed one by one through constant follow-ups with MCG and the Gurugram Administration.
