Stellar Children Did a Stellar Job

As we all know, Meghdutam Annual festival was held in the MeghdutamPark in November–December 2022. It was spread over two weekends. The calendar of events for this festival itself explained the efforts organisers had put into it, to cater the interests of all ages be it children, youngsters, adults or seniors.

Apart from planning and efforts, such festivals need funds to organize them. In this case also the organisers asked for funds from the neighbouring societies. Stellar Kings Court Executive committee too received one such request from organisers. Executive Committee decided to go to residents to ask for funds. Requests were made to residents to contribute for the fund but not a single resident come forward to donate.

It was then, I started talking to kids about the festival and the various events in which they can participate with their friends and have fun. I tried to explain to them that these festivals are important for a healthy social system. Then I asked them if they would like to raise a fund for such a festival? Would they like to contribute anything from their pocket money?

And just think, the children agreed for it!

I told them it can be any amount starting from Rupees 100 onwards. Even parents encouraged their children for it as it develops a giving attitude in them. Almost all the older children donated from their pocket money while the younger ones were supported by their parents. One of our college going youngster donated Rs 1000 for the fund and we ended up collecting more than what the organizers requested for.

All the children were happy to contribute .We invited one of the organisers, Vinod Agarwal, on Children’s Day and the children handed over the fund to him.

Not only children raised the funds but they participated in various events from nest-making to storytelling and performed in Apartment Group Dance. Parents and children together enjoyed the events – so proud of our children.

A Big thanks to all those who thought of it, planned and organised.
