SDF Samiti Honours RWA & Residents Sentiments

Last month on the Samvada cover we had carried the article ‘Placing Statue of Buddha at the Entrance of SDF Gate No. 2 Has Acquired Religious Connotations’. There was plenty of
reaction, some against installing the statue and some saying it didn’t matter.
Subsequently, the RWA in its executive committee meeting, at which SDF President was also present, the matter was discussed in detail and the general consensus was that the statue should be removed because it was likely to give a fillip to residents to install many more religious statues in the Sector, which was against the secular norms which we residents of 15A follow.
President of SDF, Deepak Malik, after discussions with his committee, agreed to the RWA’s decision and had the statue removed. The entrance now looks very clean and colourful and should be kept like this. It will continue to please passers-by.
We recommend that the SDF and the RWA now work together to do up the boundary wall fencing, in keeping with the style of the Sector’s entrances. Noida Authority has already nicely re-laid the storm-water drains all along the fencing and it will make it easier for the two committees to work together to give it a facelift.
