While the whole country was enthusiastically hoisting the national flag at homes on the call of Prime Minister’s ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’, there was a young heart some where in the foothills of Himalayas with dreams of taking the tricolour’s glory to snow-capped heights powered by his indefatigable determination and profound love for mountains.
Anand, son of Anil Tiwary and Alka Tiwary, residents of ATS Village (1771), achieved this prodigious feat of hoisting the Indian flag at Kang Yatse peak (in Markha valley, Ladakh), at a phenomenal height of 6400 meters at 11 am on 15 August.
He is not a new name in the world of mountaineers as he has been climbing smaller peaks after completion of a successful training at the Indian Mountaineers Institute, which is one of the best in mountaineering training in India. He is an avid biker and has made several solo bike rides to the treacherous mountainous terrains including the world’s highest road connecting Manali to Leh.
Although all his fortitudinous accomplishments are praiseworthy but this awe-inspiring idea of lifting the entire nation’s spirits by envisaging of raising the national flag at those divine heights and timing it beautifully with the Independence Day speaks volumes of the youth’s passion for mountaineering coupled with the zeal to see the motherland’s pride fluttering with pride atop the mighty Himalayas.
Anand’s marvelous feat has brought laurels to the entire nation in general and to ATS Village and Sector 93 in particular, as the boy who has grown up amidst us has stamped his love for the nation on the lofty mountains. This patriotism has roots in his lineage as he is the grandson of freedom fighter Late Shri Rudra Dutt Tiwary, and he considers this achievement as a tribute to his grandfather’s service to the nation. He is currently working as an entrepreneur in hospitality sector and owns a resort cum café in Himachal Pradesh.
He is a source of inspiration to people who want to live their dreams but struggle as they have to fend for their families. He has professionally groomed himself in his area of interest and what better could it be to leverage one’s passion to do something substantial for the country’s pride. He plans to continue with his forays to greater heights. We earnestly hope to see someone from our locality hoist the Tiranga at top of the world, i.e. Mount Everest, some day. Anand, with his grit dedication and commitment is certain to fulfill the desire sometime sooner.
Congratulations to the young man Anand and wish him all the best in scripting more mountaineering success stories!
