Spring is here-Blooming trees in S Block Park

There is an early spring this year due to rising temperatures and the old magnificent trees have started blooming with flowers. The magnificent Bombax Ceiba trees (Common name- Silk cotton tree or “Semal” tree) are laden with huge flowers S Block has got around six such trees. Some of these are more than eighty years old. Similarly, the pomegranate tree and kachnar trees are blooming with purple flowers & buds. These buds of “Kachnar” tree are used for making delicacies & supposed to work as an aphrodisiac.
