Sports can bring the world together, proving that unity is our greatest victory. A group of Suncity residents started the Suncity Sports community in November 2024 to meet the above goal.
Suncity is a beautiful place to reside with multiple groups set up, but it still lacks a common platform where people can connect with each other for sports. Hence, the idea of building up this community to promote various sports events throughout the year came about.
On December 29th, 2024, the community had its first annual outing, wherein 50+ participants came together to enjoy a day full of fun and enjoyment. From a six-year-old kid to an 80+ senior citizen, all were a part of this outing.
The venue for this event was Best Western Resort Country Club, Manesar, which was an hour’s drive from Suncity. The day started with everyone assembling at Suncity, from where they all took the beautiful and scenic route through the Aravalis and reached the venue. Tea with snacks was waiting for the guests, post which they all participated in some fun games. Out of all the activities, Gallery (Paali) was enjoyed by everyone; assembling it revived their childhood memories. Post the activities, a delicious lunch was served at the coffee shop, wherein a mix of Indian, Continental, and Chinese cuisines were there along with some mouthwatering desserts.
Post lunch, everyone gathered in the conference hall for a formal introduction and exciting rounds of tambola. Guests also participated in activities such as cricket, badminton, volleyball, chess, train rides, camel rides, and a lot more. The evening closed with another round of tea and some delicious pakoras, post which all guests drove back to Suncity. Such events definitely help in knowing each other and create a stronger bond in the community.
This picnic was an opportunity to connect, share, and create memories. Stepping away from daily routines, families came together on this chilly winter morning, hoping the sun would shine bright. The weather did play a spoil sport, but to everyone’s surprise, the bond and connection during the day made everyone’s day warm and bright. Whether it was sharing a meal, playing a game, or simply relaxing in each other’s company, this outing did build a bond that united us as a community.
