After a dry spell of two years due to the corona virus pandemic, the festival of light, Diwali – celebrated in the Kartik month of Hindu calendar, came back with a bang this year. Sweets,
savouries, gifts, clothes, jewellery, accessories pooled again for friends, family, colleagues, neighbours and deities; near or far.
You couldn’t help but be infected and invested with joy, fun, celebration, love and laughter amongst all the festivities. The residents and management of Apex Athena were all the more eager in welcoming the cultural, spiritual extravagance. With the entire society as well as individual flat lit up like fairytales, rangolis and diyas for the god and goddess, flowers, lanterns and the delicacies offered with love & affection, the residents and the management team of Apex Athena made it the most beautiful society of sector 75.
As we prayed for health, wealth and happiness of our loved ones, the festival of Diwali shows us the path for a better future and as the sky lit up with fireworks by the night, we paid our respects and bid adieu to our ancestors reflecting on the learning’s from the past.
As the month of Kartik falls on the confluence of changing seasons, it is empirical to prepare our minds and bodies for winters. And so continuing with these scientifically conceptualized rituals, Govardhan Pooja is celebrated post Diwali. Although the temple complex at the Apex is under development stage, it made no difference to the admirable spirit and dedication of the residents. The Govardhan Pooja was celebrated in the society mandir with the effort of the mandir committee and all the residents, followed by Annkoot Bhandara.
Festivals fill us with renewed joy and energy. And while we are all busy in our different lives, aren’t we all the same? As we end this month of October with National Unity Day, we must recognize that all it takes to be united is just a confident conscience.
