Spectacular Teej Celebration @Golf City Plot 8

This time the core committee of Golf City plot 8 left no stone unturned to make this event of Teej Mela   magnanimous. The preparations for the event had been going on for long. The Teej Queen contest was a major attraction for all the lovely ladies.

The resplendent colours of Teej  – orange, red, yellow and green welcomed the guests as one entered the Mela. There was a riot of colours which is so symbolic of Teej and the effect compounded so well with all the colourful finery adorned by the guests. I must indeed compliment the organizers for their choice of colours that they used to drape the venue which suited so well with the ambience and the occasion. The tradional swings, adorned with flowers became the selfie points for the beautifully dressed ladies.

There was enough variety in the shops for all to admire and choose from them, whether it was the handcrafted artistry of the decoration pieces and ornaments, traditional kurtas, the saree collection, dress material or bedsheets. Several stalls were offering a variety of finger-licking street food. Chaat stall was a hit. Bakery corner, kulfi stall etc were added attractions.

The event aimed at celebrating the spirit of monsoon. The spectacular group dance performances by the ladies were well appreciated. Ms Gupta kept the audience glued with her mesmerising anchoring. Tambola, games for under 50, and over 50 ladies, a lucky draw and many other fun-filled activities followed. There was a baby show as well. All applauded for solo dances and melodious songs by ladies. Free mehndi by artists was available and ladies flocked to get their hands done. There was a tarot reader too. There were lots of swings and rides for children of all age groups. Balloon shooting is always a favourite at any Mela. There were many surprise gifts given to the ladies. The winners of the Teej Queen contest were TEEJ Queen Poonam Sinha, the First runner-up Neha Sanghi, and Mrs Payal Goyal the second runner-up.
