With the New Year around the corner, the residents of Sunshine Helios got together for a Christmas Carnival on December 23.
The programme kicked off with outdoor games for children of all age groups. Under the winter sun, children enjoyed fun games like caterpillar race, don’t drop the balloon, frog race and dance freeze. Children also tried their hand at greeting card making and Christmas tree decoration. Seeing the kids having such a lot of fun, the ladies of Sunshine Helios joined in for a game of tug-of-war. With everyone letting loose their inner child, it ended up being a rather keenly-contested affair!
A key theme for the Christmas Carnival this year was around the residents’ collective responsibility towards cleanliness. The children of Sunshine put together a thought-provoking musical skit to raise awareness about littering, and to highlight little ways where we could mindfully keep our surroundings free of garbage and clutter. Their stellar performance inspired all, and helped strengthen our resolve to make Sunshine Helios a litter-free housing complex. Further, in the spirit of showing compassion towards our house keeping staff, a ‘Secret Santa’ event was organized. The residents volunteered to pool together small token gifts, and these gifts were presented to the housekeeping staff to recognize them and to appreciate their critical contribution in keeping Sunshine spic and span.
The evening ended with two dazzling dance performances, enthralling everyone in attendance. With holiday cheer, Sunshine Helios residents bid goodbye to 2023 with laughter, music and food, and welcomed the new year 2024 with good wishes going all around.
