Chirping of sparrow (Gauraiya) early morning /late evening used to be melodious music to the ears once upon a time.
Urbanisation, pollution, insecticides usage for shrubs and trees have moved Sparrows (Gauraiya) away from cities, although few of them still survive. Habitat loss is perhaps the biggest reason for its disappearance.
We at horticulture a B9 RWA with the support of Anuradha Malhotra of B1 and Gopesh of B9 is putting an effort for sparrow (Gauraiya) conservation. We arestarting with 3 Nests for them along with water and food.
