“रघुपति राघव राजाराम”, “पतित पावन सीता राम”
This was probably the first bhajan that I remember as a 3-4 year old. My grandparents were big-time fans of Bapu and followed Arya Samaj. The first story that I recollect is the story from my Dadi ji of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati waking up all night on Shivaratri to realise that a mouse was eating all the prasad. He questioned that if Shiva could not defend his prasad from a tiny mouse, then how could he be the saviour of the world?
With this background, it does appear a bit odd to me that our entire nation and most residents of South City celebrated the Pran Pratistha Ceremony of Ram Temple with great fervour. Ignoring for a day, the Gyan given by my grandparents and parents I also joined in believing “When in India do as the Ram bhakts do”.
F Block took the early lead and celebrated with a SUNDARKAND PAATH on Sunday, 21st January. Residents from the entire South City were invited. More than 200 residents participated in the event.
