Some Important Points Raised in the Club AGM

The Sports & Cultural Club Annual General Body Meeting was conducted on Sun, 5 May. After half an hour of loud objections raised by some members against SP Bagla chairing the meeting it was finally called to order and the following important topics were raised by the speakers:

Mr Bajaj: He said that the Vice President Jyoti Kachroo should conduct the meeting in absence of the President DD Mishra. If he is unable to do that then he should resign from this important position.

Anupama (SDF 22C): Praised the new look Jasmine Room and said that it was an ideal place for a very small gathering.

Mamta Chawla (SDF 44C): She praised the new look facade but she requested the management to make the entrance more senior citizen friendly. She said that the house keeping of the club had deteriorated and it needs to be monitored on an ongoing basis. She requested the committee to allow members to use the Jasmine room when it is not booked for a party.

Rajiv Bhatia (HNo 5 FF): Reacting to the political situation in the club he said that it seems that it seems the club is not in good shape from inside.

Smriti Jain: She pointed out that the food in the club was very expensive. It almost matched the five-star hotel food prices. She also added that being a sports and cultural club the children should not be charged any fees for training activity.

Anil Jain (HNo 300): Wanted to know whether the Republic Day and Independence Day functions were RWA functions or Club functions.

Deepak Malik (SDF 40 B): Praised the new look of the façade. He requested the committee to redo the swimming pool change rooms.

Dr Vinay Bhasker (SDF 52A):  He said the Club is a community center of the sector hence the RWA office should be in the club and not in the SDF complex.

Sanjeev Sareen (HNo 450): Reacting to the treasurer’s report he pointed out that there was drop in operational profit of 23 lakh this financial year and there is drop in surplus from 80 lakhs to 40 lakhs.

Smita Shah (HNo 324A) : She said that this is a family club and we should all decide to do away with the elections.

Sudipta Roy (HNo 275): He requested that the following resignation given by him should be made part of the minutes of this meeting:

Subject: Resignation From CMC As the Current CMC Is Neither as Per Club Constitution nor the New Lease Deed

Mr President,

We refer to the email of 22nd January convening CMC Meeting on Sunday, 28th January 2024. As in the past several months, notice of holding CMC Meeting are continued to be issued without any details of the agenda for the same. Our repeated email reminders to you for last 02 months informing you that we 04 elected

Resident CMC Members (elected with over 70% of the votes polled) are abstaining from Club meetings as the current CMC ceases to exist as per new lease deed signed by you & RWA Secretary dated 21st November 2023 questioning the validity of business conducted by Non-Resident Members controlled CMC have gone unanswered.

Since our verbal and written protests and emails on record highlighting the unprofessional functioning of Club are being ignored in totality, we are left with no option but to tender our resignation with immediate effect from the 15 Member CMC which has been recently reconstituted by RWA Secretary under your instructions in total violation of the Club constitution & contrary to the terms & condition laid out in the new lease deed executed by RWA with NOIDA Authority.

Under these circumstances we have decided not continue to be a part of this legally invalid CMC and be held accountable by the Club Members.

We have already informed you and the CMC Members including the NOIDA Legal Advisor who is now a part of the CMC under the new lease deed and the club office through several emails of the instances where CMC has conducted business against the laid out Consti tuti onal guidelines and Club bye laws and decisions of the General body documented over the years and questioned the legal validity of continuation of current CMC of 15 Member’s under the new lease deed.

Some of the key relevant and important exchanges of emails / communications / documents mentioned above are appended below for information and record.

With best wishes,

Sanjeev Sareen (Elected Club Managing Committee 2023-24 Resident Member)
