Despite our Vasant Kunj, known for its well-planned Sectors-Pockets; known for its location and connectivity; for elite inhabitants: for various top schools, hospitals etc. etc., yet we are in the
news often for various wrong reasons. It’s time to highlight some of those problems faced by us all.
The first and the foremost is: The Stray Animals – the cows and buffaloes roaming around on our roads, creating terrible traffic hazards. AND, the stray dogs biting around here and there.
The second major problem is : The absence of SPEED-BREAKERS on the roads especially where the EXIT gates of these Sector-Pockets open up on the main roads, such as B-4, C-2, etc. etc. Imagine, when the neighbouring traffic signals of the main roads allow speeding vehicles to pass in front of our EXIT Gates, how prone we are to serious Accidents!? A very simple solution: creating Speed- Breakers on the right side of the Exit Gate to slow down the speeding vehicles to help save hitting the vehicles exiting from our Pockets!!
The Next big problem is: The Absence of ZEBRA lines to enable crossing the roads properly. Several such ZEBRA lines are needed for saving lives.
Imagine how the pedestrians have to take the risk of running zig-zag through the moving vehicles. For example, kids/parents of the big prominent schools, such as GD Goenka and Bhatnagar School in Sector B or even the senior citizens of the SCWA trying to cross over to the B-10 Market. Think of the big risk they all can avoid, if only there are proper ZEBRA markings on the roads.
Citizens Forum has been raising such small issues and shall continue making efforts to achieve the aim: Towards Making Our Lives Better!!
