The office bearers of SNRA, Mr Arun Chopra, Mr Raj Malhotra and Mr Ved, went and met the counselor Himani Jain about the various civic issues pending in the colony. They asked her to look into all these pending problems and to visit the colony so that they may be able to show her all the concerns of the SNRA. Counselor Himani Jain apprised the RWA that she has been visiting Shanti Niketan quite often on her own. The office bearers requested her to let them know whenever she is visiting the colony so that they may welcome her and at the same time apprise her of the more urgent issues that need to be addressed.
SNRA handed over a letter to the counselor outlining briefly 6 to 7 points of urgent attention that the colony required.
A number of lights and poles are required in the colony specially to cover the dark spots in the backlanes from where a number of theftst and robberies have been attempted. The second point of importance was the maintenance of the parks specially the grills which need a fresh coat of paint, plaster where ever required and the tiling of the tracks where they had got uprooted. They also brought to her notice that roads of the colony have not been carpeted for a very long time and as such need urgent attention.
The counselor told the Association that road carpeting would not be possible at this point of time because of the model code of conduct which is in place but pothole repairs will be done wherever they are required as per SNRA request.
SNRA has placed all its requests to the councilor and hopes to have all the issues addressed in the upcoming weeks.
