On the 25th of June, Deepak Verma’s invitation came to the residents of the Sushant Lok C block that the local police station has initiated a mission to combat the abuse of drug addiction and such tabooed practices within our community.
SLRWA is also involved in these efforts and supports it fully. The efforts will be extended as the awareness program at Vyapar Kendra, ROF Mall and various other public places. The residents were advised to attend the event and help police to maintain order besides being safe and helping to keep the community safe too.
On 26 June the Gurugram Police organized one such awareness drive at Cyber Hub, sticking to the agenda “Say NO to Drugs.” The talks were against drug abuse and its ill effects, people were made aware that the drug addicts should not be looked down upon by the community as they are not criminals but the victims. We should help them rehabilitate and reintegrate into society. Different classes of people attended the event, especially the youth. People were asked to contact Deepak Verma, the general secretary of the SLRWA, if they come in contact with any such person, the identity of the caller and victim will be kept confidential. A Great Leap of Faith!
