Aespite regular exercise, you could be at risk of health problems. Our daily morning walk and work outs for 30 minutes or more may not be enough to give you guarantee of your good health. Experts believe that long hours of sitting in the office or at home are bad for your health. In the study, published in “Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise,” It was found that people who exercised for 30 minutes daily, but then were sedentary for 10 to 12 hours a day had higher blood sugar, cholesterol and body fat levels compared to those who moved around more. These people were the study’s active couch potatoes. In opposition, those who got up and moved around even a little were said to be much healthier than the active couch potatoes. What they say is that regular movements or exercise during day time and in the evening are also required to burn your calories to avoid taxing on your health. Simple exercise like movement of your feet or tapping on the floor and clapping of hands and rubbing them vigorously for five to ten minutes or walking for fifteen to thirty minutes can be good for blood circulation. Whenever you feel low after long sittings these small movements along with deep breathing exercise can restore your mood. Even good corporates allow their employees small breaks for workouts to keep them fit and healthy.
In order to reduce risk Move! Move! Move! In addition to your exercise, move lightly, even if it means going for a short stroll, taking a brisk walk or even just cleaning your house. Take the stairs, stroll in your corridors. According to the study, 80-90 minutes of light activity a day is ideal, however, “any additional movement should be beneficial,” says the experts. The bottom line is that you should sit less and move more. Now it’s on you how you want to achieve it. Do not strain yourself, but get as much movement in the body as possible.
