In keeping with our tradition, Silver Oaks residents came together to celebrate Diwali, the festival of lights, without bursting crackers. This year Silver Oaks was decorated with lights just like a fairytale land, from gates to buildings to gardens etc. Instead, we organized a Rangoli Rendezvous on Chhoti Diwali, which was open to all age groups. The community centre was abuzz with kids and parents creating beautiful rangolis. Our resident, Vairavan, created the most stunning rangoli, transforming the floor into a vibrant canvas.
This year, our RWA also organized a Diwali lunch for our staff on Choti Diwali served with love and warmth by the members and residents. As part of our Diwali tradition, we also conducted a diya daan ceremony, where everyone gathered to light diyas, worship Ganesh ji and Laxmi ji, and exchange sweets. The evening concluded with the lighting of lanterns, which were waved into the night sky.
We are proud to continue our tradition of celebrating a crackers-free Diwali and hope to inspire others to join us in promoting a cleaner, greener environment.
