April 16th to 18th were very special days for Shiv Mandir Green Park, as for the first time, Shiv Puran Katha was organized by Suman Sharma. Katha vachak was Swami Virender VyasI from Indore, a very highly qualified personality.
First two days, time was 3 to 6 pm and on the final day 10am to 1pm. Daily Mandir was jam packed with an attendance of 400 to 450 devotees sitting very attentively, for 3 hours so that they did not miss even one word. Before starting katha, daily there was navgrah, kuldevta and Mata pujan by Suman Sharma & family. Every now and then, bhajans were interspersed by Swami ji whose voice was full of melody. Ladies danced whole heartedly with every bhajan. The 3rd day was a special day as Swami ji was felicitated by Mandir Pardhan, M.L.Chopra and all committee members.
Before Brahambhoj and bhandara, Havan was performed by Swami ji and the organizer’s family. Daily special prasad by Mahila Mandal, also by the Mandir committee was distributed. On the final day Suman Sharma’s family distributed special prasad boxes and a mala, followed by Bhandhara with a lavish menu of Alu, bedmi puri, channe, mixed vegetables, rice, salad, moong dal halwa and tea which was relished by all.
