With the onset of monsoon (Shravan maas) prayers to Lord Shiva take precedence in most temples. Shankaram (Shiv Aaradhana), an hour long program of Shiv bhajans was held on the 30 Aug at the Mahavirji Temple, popularly known as Pahariwala Mandir, by Jeevantini, which is a society for spreading peace and harmony in life through music. The motto of Jeevantini is Sahajam, Safalam Jeevan.
Dr Deepti Bansal is the founder and convener of this non-profit society founded in Meerut in 2017. They have organised several programs of classical, semi classical and light music in Meerut, Ghaziabad and Delhi. The artists who presented classical as well as folk bhajans of Shiva were: Manasvini Lakhanpal (student pursuing Hons in Applied Psychology and ardent lover of music), Priya Priyadarshini (working with Bajaj and ardent lover of music), Dr Shambhavi Das (Music therapist in Gurugram), Dr Deepti Bansal (vocalist Banaras gharana & Associate Professor music dept D R college, Delhi), Dr Renu Gupta (Associate Professor, Music department, Kalindi college, Delhi and Maitreyi Majumdar (vocalist Rampur Gharana).
Accompanists were: Kamal Kant Sharma (Tabla) and Lalit Sisodia (Harmonium)
The program, under the leadership of Dr Deepti Bansal, Hemant Roy and Premlata Mullick was enjoyed by all the devotees. The present Patron of the society is Kamal Salvan. Prasad comprising of boondi, samosa, biscuits, namkeen and tea was distributed at the end.
