Shakti Swaroopa – Dance Drama On Women Empowerment!

Abha Atray needs no introduction. All her plays and dance dramas have a theme and convey a message. “Shakti Swaroopa” was yet another feather in the cap.

This show was a feast for the eyes. It was a dance drama put up by almost all talented housewives.

Abha Atray has a passion for theatre and has proved that a wife / mother can believe in herself and follow her dreams.

She is lucky to have a supportive husband and a team of talented ladies who have helped her in this journey.

On Monday, 06 March 2023, Abhivyakti cultural forum organised a dance drama “Shakti Swaroopa” with the collaboration of AVRWA .The program was attended by more than 300 spectators. There were 27 participants from NCR, Delhi, Greater Noida, Preetampura etc. The program started with Shakti Maa Ki Aradhana followed by contribution of historical women in Indian history.

Role of woman as mother, wife, friend and loyal care taker is very important in society. A few historical characters like Gandhari, Panna Dhai, Hadi Rani, Draupadi , Jija Mata and Ahilya Bai Holkar were enacted to portray their strong influence. Second part was about women empowerment. It started with great warrior Rani Laxmi Bai. Many interesting dances and acts were presented on Nari Shakti. Is woman still safe and have status in society? These questions still haunt us and one should think about it. Last portion was full of entertainment -Holi Dhamaka. There were mesmerizing and fun filled performances by the ladies of the group. Abha Atray – founder of Abhivyakti cultural forum was the writer and director of this programme.

I would like to extend my sincere and heartfelt compliments to Abha Atray on being the force behind this majestic event that celebrated womanhood in its true spirit.

Samvada Adds: Watch our broadcast version to witness the level of enthusiasm and energy exhibited by these ladies from 30 to 70 years of age. And hats off to a few survivors of a very dreaded disease!
