Shabad Keertan Resumed In SCWA

Goodbye Zoom!

No Words enough to express the joy of fulfilment of The Long-Awaited wish for resumption of the hugely popular Event: Gurbani/Shabad Kirtan – by our Senior Citizens Welfare Assn-Vasant Kunj, in their Hall, thereby, bidding goodbye to the ZOOMs!!.

It started with the welcome by Naresh Bansal, Vice President-SCWA, introducing the New President Zile Singh and most other Office bearers and executives present on this great occasion.

President Zile Singh very happily emphasised that we shall work with our Theme as: ^^lcdk lkFk] lc dk lEeku** and restart all other activities, in the interest of our senior citizens, be it spiritual, religious or social etc., which were stopped by the previous regime.

Mr Bansal invited Grp Captain HS Dua to Anchor the  programme further.

To begin with, as usual, Grp. Capt. Duaji offered, this time, a highly informative description on the life and contribution of the Fourth Guru, SRI Guru Ram Das ji in view of Guru’s Parkash Purab falling this month (30 Oct). It was great to learn that Guru Ramdas ji established the city of Amritsar. Its first name was “Guru ka Chak”. Later, it was changed to “Ramdas pura” and finally Amritsar, after the construction of the Golden Temple and the Holy Sarovar. He also brought to our knowledge that over 10 % hymns (638 out of total of 5894) of Adi Granth Sahibji were contributed by Guru Ram Dasji.

Loudly applauded by the audience.

Then followed the recital of Shabads/Bhajans, led by Saroj Didi. About 8-9 citizens made their presentations, some with Harmonium, accompanied by a great Tabla artist arranged by Dua sahib. At the conclusion, as usual, the Paath Anand Sahib, and Ardas were offered by Dhiraj Bhalla Behnji, followed by distribution of the Karah Prasad, prepared personally by her. Due to shortage of time many participants could not get their chance, but were promised priority in our next month Shabad Keertan programme.

Mohan Sethi, on behalf of the Citizens Forum, thanked Zile Singh and the new team for accepting our request and restarting the highly spiritual programme which was stopped, despite our repeated requests/appeals. He also thanked the audience for encouraging us with their benign presence in our ZOOM-Gurbani programmes, month after month.

The happy event was followed by the usual: Langar Prasad. This time it was booked/ sponsored by Saranjit Singh. But look at the enthusiasm of the crowd: six next Langars are already booked – Air Cdr GP Singh, Behn Santosh Nagpal, Dheeraj Bhalla, Grp.Capt Dua, Mohan Sethi etc.

The SCWA Hall was over-crowded, more than 75-80 persons, enjoying and celebrating every moment of this Happy sacred event.

Indeed, it was like a New Dawn In Our Courtyard, as described by Naresh Bansal.
