Let me apprise the residents of how bad is the position of our sewer system. As the residents are in the dark therefore they do not know and appreciate how bad is the position.
There were complaints from T, U, V and N blocks about sewer blockage. The complaints were not taken seriously by DJB, no fruitful results were coming.
We started investigation and came to know that the situation was much much worse than what we had anticipated.
Let me explain. All manholes of U V T blocks, mandir wali gali were full upto brim. With further investigation we came to know that there was surcharge and siltage in manholes from Yusuf Sarai to Gautam Nagar drain.
Thereafter in 900mm diameter and about 1km long sewer line running parallel to Gautam Nagar drain, AIIMS was also surcharged and silted. Further this line joining trunk line which goes upto Andrew’s gunj pumping station was also surcharged. Now you can appreciate how bad is the situation.
All these lines cater to Green Park Extn, Green Park Main, Yusuf Sarai, Gautam Nagar, DDA flats and much more areas. All the areas are likely to suffer.
Bharti ji was apprised of this grim situation. He took immediate action. Within a couple of days all senior officers of DJB including member Jal board, MCD officials and Councillor sahiba came to Greenpark Extn. Manholes were opened and shown the position, also in mandir wali gali. Manholes were full upto brim. At V13 water was coming out of manhole like a fountain.
Necessary instructions/directions were given.
In-between we checked the work being done in 900mm line manholes in Gautam nagar at 2’O clock in the night and found that there was no seriousness. Time was being wasted. We informed Bharti ji and got immediate response that the staff would be tightened.
We are informing daily about our nonsatisfaction to Bharti ji.
On 17th June we got a message from JE concerned that he is going to deploy vehicles in V, U T blocks, mandir wali gali and C block at about 10 pm.Residents were requested not to park their cars on sewer manholes. RWA was requested to inform the residents to cooperate and also inform guards to open gate no11 when required by DJB.
