Noida Federation of Apartment Owners Associations (NOFAA) and Meghdutam Senior Citizens Forum jointly held a workshop on “Protecting Yourself from Digital and Banking Frauds” along with Noida Police on 15 June, from 5 to 6.30 pm, at the Club House of Omaxe Twin Tower.

The objective of the session was to educate and empower senior citizen residents with the knowledge and tools necessary to safeguard their personal and financial information in today’s digital age. Around over 50 senior citizens from Omaxe and neighbouring 18 neighboring high rise societies attend the session. The workshop was conducted by Baljeet Singh, Cyber Crime Department, Noida Police.

The key highlights of the session were – Understanding Digital and Banking Frauds, Common Tactics Used by Fraudsters, Tips to Protect Your Digital Identity and Safe Online Banking Practices. The session ended with a Q&A Session with Experts. Everyone present appreciated and applauded the efforts of the Police department for such productive and fruitful interaction, NOFAA and Omaxe AOA team.

The meeting was also joined by HDFC bank representatives to share and add important points on banking frauds and cyber insurance.

“Our community’s safety is of utmost importance. Through this collaboration with the Noida Police, we aim to empower residents of high-rise societies with the knowledge to safeguard their digital and financial well-being. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Shri Baljeet Singh, Cyber Crime, Noida Police and for his valuable time and support. We also aim to do more such sessions in the different Group Housing societies in Noida,” said Rajiva Singh, President, NOFAA

“We were honoured to have experienced officers from the Noida Police, specializing in cybercrime and fraud prevention, lead this session with their expert insights.  The session was an essential step towards ensuring all our residents are well-equipped to protect themselves in the digital world,” said Ashok Nauriyal, Vice-president, NOFFA, and Secretary General, Meghdutam Senior Citizens Forum.

Recently, people – especially senior citizens – are getting fraudulent phones from persons posing to help them out by citing that their phone numbers and email ids have been used for illegal activities. In panic, on hearing their names caught in digital fraud, some have been cheated by a large amount of their savings. The session was helpful in the confidence building of the seniors.
