CJCSCF held its monthly meeting on 29th October 2023 at Gulmohar Centre’s TT Hall 5pm onwards. Mr.Sahay the President of the forum welcomed all the members. He also introduced new members. He expressed his pleasure that the forum ‘s family is increasing, and the friendliness, cooperation, comradeship and enthusiasm among members is commendable. He praised all the members beautifully, elegantly dressed in Indian and western dresses and wished all of them good luck for winning best dressed Female and Male Competition which was announced earlier. It was nice to see that all of them had come in nice attire ready to compete with a very positive attitude.
He made Mrs Sunita Rajora the score board kerper and explained the rules of Antakshari. She divided all the members in four groups. As everyone wanted to be in the group with our talented singer members, there were noises and chaos as it happens in an uncontrolled class room where every child wants he should be heard. But Madhu as an efficient ring leader controlled all boys and girls and announced the very appropriate names of four groups Patwane, Mastane, Deewane, Anjane. Then he handed over the mike to Mrs. Madhu Bhandari, the Cultural Incharge for conducting the day’s scheduled programme Antakshari. All of us welcomed Madhu with clapping. She accepted the welcome with her unique style and informed everyone that no cheating will be allowed, so please all of you switch off your mobile first!
The stipulated time for Antakshari was set for one hour. For one hour we all enjoyed old melodies and popular songs. The Antakshari continued for more than an hour. Our seniors have very sound knowledge of movie songs of the sixties and seventies. It was very entertaining, energetic and fun filled session. Result was declared. Deewane and Parwane according to their score were winners at first and second position. As announced earlier Mr Bhalla was asked to handover prizes to winning teams and surprisingly to other team members also. All members enjoyed chocolate while congratulating each other.
The second event of the day was the best dressed Female and Male Competition. All ladies were beautifully dressed in Indian dresses looking gorgeous, beautiful and smart. The men have less choices as far as clothes are concerned. Mr. Suman the judge appointed by forum, declared Mrs. Smita Sahay as the best dressed among females and Mr Umesh Sahdev among male members. All members congratulated them with huge applause. Mr. Azad presented birthday gifts to all boys and girls born in the month of October. That was followed by cutting of cake and high tea. During tea, members caught up with each other and had pleasant gupshup.
