Saroj Narang, a senior citizen residing in M 9 lane was in shock when she stepped out from her house around 7:45 pm to attend a phone call due to poor signals. She sat on a culvert next to her gate talking over her mobile when a motorcycle driven by a single rider zoomed past her snatching her gold chain from her neck. She was stunned by the quick action and could not read the number plate or recognize the culprit.
It was only after her friend pestered her to lodge a complaint that she called up GC members of the RWA and Vipin Yadav who sent QRT. A police complaint was lodged but so far nothing has been recovered. She was wearing a small pendant that had “Ram” written on it.
After almost an hour of the incident Saroj ji went out and with the help of her phone torch looked for the pendant as she was sure that it would have dropped and not gone with the chain. She was right, she found her pendant, in her words, ”Ram ji nay chor kay haath jaaney se mana kar diya.”
