DLF Club 5 arranges a bimonthly program for senior citizens. Besides entertainment, there are some helpful sessions on health too. Till now, Club 5 has conducted 35 programmes for senior citizens.
The 36th programme was held on 27th July in which a very beneficial talk was given by Dr Sanjay Dahiya, Orthopedist. Dr. Sanjay said that in the orthopaedic department, they have started a new Stem cell Therapy for Osteoarthritis knee. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are multipotent stem cells found in bone marrow that are important for making and repairing skeletal tissues, such as cartilage, bone and fat found in bone marrow. It provides the best alternative to joint replacement.
He also added that this way, Stem Cell-based therapy is of great interest in regenerative medicine because of its potential in regenerating new cartilage. This treatment is beneficial for sports persons for their shoulder, elbow, ankles and knee pain. This therapy needs no surgery and no cuts.Dr. Sanjay’s talk invoked a new ray of hope in Senior Citizens struggling with knee and joint pain.
After the health talk, it was time for entertainment and singers entertained audiences with their melodious songs.
It started with Ganesh Vandana and after that, Ranjani Basu presented a dance which mesmerised the audience. At Karaoke Dr. Hardatt, S.C.Sony, Pinky Katyal, Mona, Puneet Arora, Suresh Sharma and Ravi Joshi sang melodious old songs.
After the talk and entertainment, Club 5, a very good host, gave sumptuous lunch to all the participants and the audience. Thanks to Kanika, who arranged this excellent program.
