Monthly birthday celebrations are held at SCF Defence Colony as a part of cordial tradition uniting each of the senior residents of Defence Colony in an affectionate bond. The June Jewels celebrations were held on June 19.
The celebrations started with the ceremonious presentation of personalized birthday cards. I congratulated all June Jewels on their special day with a noteworthy reference to our cherished Brig. Ravinder Kumar Bhatia for becoming a Super Senior at 82. Our RWA A Block President and fellow SCF member Vijay Kumar presented him with a token of appreciation from the SCF.
Just like the soaring temperature this month, the spirits of our so-called senior citizens were extremely high and this reflected in the “Chasme Badoor” performance by Suvir Sharma with his mesmerising flute. This was accompanied by great singing by his talented friend Anil Oberai. This foot-tapping music made the house go haywire and the best part was seeing our dear senior citizens dancing their heart outs. Proving that age is just a number as we witnessed the joyous and vivacious senior boys and girls reveling.
This was followed up by the yummylicious cake cutting and mouth-watering delectable feast which left one feeling “Yeh Dil Maange More”.
I must specially recognise the effort of our forever generous SCF member ND Bhasin who had arranged from his side – unlimited ice cream store for young at heart seniors who nevertheless swarmed the ice cream carter just like little kids at park.
A special thanks to my management team who makes all the efforts to make our seniors and super seniors feel pampered on their special day. We wish again our June Jewels –. Surjit Duggal, Brig. Ravinder Kumar Bhatia VSM,. Suvir Sharma, Vijay Kumar Gupta, Dr. Anil Kumar Madan, Sudesh Rao, Maj. Gen. RKR Balasubramaniam and Maj. Gen. PS Malhotra – a very happy and prosperous life. In the end, everyone at SCF carried sweet memories and happy heart back home.
This is a family away from your own family…
