Grand Birthday Celebrations of Senior Citizens Born in January
WOW is the word for the innovative thinking which is full of kindness, care, love and proud for the seniors of our colony who are the backbone of all of us…..The chairperson of SCF Harjit Kaur Bawa’s way to celebrate the “collective birthdays of all seniors who were born in the month of January”. The lovable and heartfelt invite was personally sent to these 9 young at heart Birthday Boys and gals to come over the SCF hall in A block at 1200 Hrs. on Thursday, 25th January’24. The caption of the invite was “Birthday reunion party to create the vibes for all the lucky ones. Everyone was requested to come prepared with at least one memorable event that has made positive difference in their lives. All the other members of SCF were also invited to participate and facilitate the following 9 Navratnas.

Rekhi (January-2) 2) Mr. Devinder S Khera (January-4), 3) Vijay Kumar (January-7) 4) Sheela Bai Babbar (January-8) 5) Mahesh Chander Gupta (January-17) 6) Ranju Sethi (January-17) 7) Mrs. Charu Lata Agarwal (January-17) 8) Manmohan Kaur Gujaral (January-19) and 9) Harish Kumar Khanduja (January-25).
They started with decoration of senior citizen forum (SCF) in a colorful manner to welcome the guests for the celebration of friendship and legacy of all the January born superstars. It was nice to see more than 100 sparkling souls come together for this special occasion.
Ranju Sethi, Kanchan Anand and Praveen Gupta were applauded for beautifully decorating the venue for the party. Sheela Bai Babbar who completed 102 years was the senior most among all who was given the biggest round of applause for her resilience and strength. Ranju Seth as always was at her creative best to link each B’day personalities with every Navratnas.
The air was filled with jubilant tunes, echoing and joyous melodies of badhai ho tum ko Janamdin Ki”. Each Birthday superstar was given a personalized Birthday card which was received by them with showering of blessings to the organizers. The party came to higher mode with the Punjabi song “Ho gai hai Balle Balle” celebrating not just the special day but life as one SCF family.
The presence of Def col’s favorite former councillor Abhishek Dutt who is also National Secretary of INC added energy to the celebrations. His words echoed love, affection and care for the senior citizens of out colony. Vijay Kumar, President of RWA also expressed his joy in uniting these celebrations and also acknowledged the inspiration and motivation he received from Mrs. Babbar.
The lavish lunch was cherished by all the guests who were seen enjoying the Dal Tadka, Shahi Paneer, Paranthas and Gajar Ka Halwa with their family and friends. The yummiest food was liked by all who thanked the organizers and especially Mrs. Bawa who was seen all over for her love and hospitality.
The SCF is now enjoyed by more and more residents in the morning and evenings that are seen chatting and chilling for hours. Anyone can join SCF by visiting SCF office to make new friends in the colony.
