The Senior Citizens Forum, Prateek Wisteria, organized a thrilling Indoor Games Tournament from December 10 to 23, 2024. Following the success of the previous year’s event, the Executive Committee decided to add a new category, Carrom (Women), to the existing lineup of Carrom (Men), Chess, and Table Tennis. The tournament kicked off with a call for nominations on December 1, 2024, and by the deadline on December 7, a total of 52 nominations were received across the four categories. The draw for Table Tennis was held on the inaugural day, and the matches were played on December 11 and 12.
After 66 matches, including semi-finals and finals, the champions emerged: Ashok Sharma took the top spot in Table Tennis, followed by Vijay Prakash Johri, S.M. Bhardwaj, and Harish Sachdeva.The Carrom matches for Men and Women were played from December 16 to 19, with Nanak Chand claiming the top spot in the Men’s category, followed by R.K. Bandlish, Harish Sachdeva, and S.S. Tewari. In the Women’s category, Usha Mathur emerged as the winner, followed by Sunita Singh, Renu Shukla, and Vibha Mishra.
The Chess tournament, held from December 20 to 23, saw Vinay Srivastava take the top spot, followed by S.P. Srivastava, Vimal Luthra, and R.K. Bandlish. Throughout the tournament, all matches were played in a spirit of sportsmanship and friendship, with each participant playing a minimum of two matches. The event concluded on December 23, with members expressing their satisfaction with the tournament’s success. President Shri Mathur thanked all participants, organizers, and spectators for making the event a memorable one. He also announced plans to add more games to the tournament next year, which was met with thunderous applause from the members.
