Executive committee of senior citizen forum held on 19 June, decided to diversify its activities and to include the indoor games such as Carom, Chess and Table Tennis, as a measure to in-
crease the entertainment value of Forum for its members. It was further decided that interested members would participate in the practice sessions for same on every Saturday before the tournament can be organised.
On the third Wednesday of the month i.e. on 21 June a discussion was organised on “Importance of management in team spirit V/s one man management*.
Vir Bhan Sood moderated the session and Dr. N. K. Berry initiating the discussion explained the need to understand the words team, team work and team spirit. How each one of them helps obtain the team objectives. Other members also presented their views on the importance of team work and team spirit and how they are both important for the success of a team. Mr. Mathur in the end delved upon the need of team having faith in the team leader and honouring his decisions.
Mr. Sood in the end delved upon the inter dependence between the team spirit and its confidence in the team leadership which ultimately helps the team in achieving objectives. For this the team needs to have faith in the decisions made by the leader, and work whole heartedly to achieve team objectives and the need for leader to earn the confidence of the team members by his actions.
On the last Wednesday of the month members enjoyed the songs rendered by the members key word for which was प्यार, इश्क, लव।
Monthly get together of the Forum was held on 25 June, in which the attendance was recorded more than 60 persons. The program started with recitation of Hanuman Chalisa after which the floor was handed over to Dr. N. K. Berry who kept the audience glued to their seats for the entire program with his one liners and riddles in between different items presented by the members.
J. P. Gupta presented the minutes of Executive committee held on 19 June for appreciation of the members . This was followed by the felicitation of members whose birthdays/ marriage anniversary happened to fall in June. Nanak Chand Rangani and Harpal Singh Balyan announced their names while Mr. Bandlish called the names of members who came to felicitate. Mr. and Mrs. Mathur brought a beautiful and delicious cake to mark the occasion. S. M Chowdhury presented the birthday/ marriage anniversary wishes in Sanskrit.
Next the members presented entertaining songs/ bhajans/ man ki baat which was thoroughly appreciated by the audience with a thunderous applause.
Since a good number of new members have joined the Forum Ramesh Bandlish, Vice President presented an account of the activities of Forum for the appreciation of new members.
Meeting ended with vote of thanks by Dr. N. K. Verma, followed by recitation of Forum’s Slogan “ Worry Ends with Friends” and serving of light refreshment.
