Panchshila Enclave Ladies Association Meet
Ayurveda, “a way of life”, our government is laying much importance on adopting healthy ways of life. A separate ministry in the name, Ayush Ministry has started. A separate section of Ayurveda has been started in AIIMS too. One of our members, Seema Malhotra recently excelled in the Ayurveda & Yoga examination. So, keeping in mind, the demand of the day, we invited her to enlighten the ladies about adopting, Ayurveda, as a way of life.
Seema Malhotra, a renowned social worker, and a trainer shared her journey as a student of Naturopathy & yoga. Having suffered many health issues, she opted for a Diploma in Naturopathy & Yoga. She has dedicated herself to spread awareness in the society on various issues. Some easy tips to remain in good health given by her are as follows.
1.Walking in fresh air and keeping all the joints mobile even in pain
2. For arthritis, it’s essential to strengthen thigh & calf muscles to support knees.
3. Use of millets & raw food.
4. Importance of fasting for self healing of gut.
5. Water therapy, which includes steaming, use of cold & hot bandages, anema, jal – neti & kunjal etc.
6. Adopting pranayam to balance the air element.
Basically, all the five elements of the body need to be taken care of. The five elements being water, fire, earth, air and space. The imbalance of any element can make us sick. The talk was very useful and a revision of the studies.
After her talk, two games of much loved Tambola were played & enjoyed by all the ladies, along with hot Holiday Special Soup & a Dahi Kabab.
We are thankful to the Holiday Club for all the help.
