Suncity being an open township with multiple entry and exit points faced a lot of security challenges. The absence of boundary walls and the existence of multiple porous areas led to incidents wherein people from outside society would sneak in and steal bikes, sewer lids, batteries and much more. The taxis and the autos which dropped off the residents, often parked their vehicles on empty plots contributing to the disturbances and complaints, including incidents involving young individuals in secluded corners.
In response to these security threats and the need for efficient management of society, a Quick Response Team(QRT) was set up under the leadership of Prashant Sharma and Surendar Pal by the RWA. The QRT consists of two full-time security personnel and two supervisors who alternate in their duties. The QRT deals with all the potential threats to society and also addresses any inconvenience faced by the residents. From capturing snakes, providing a sense of security to the residents to dealing with complaints such as speeding and loud music. These highly trained individuals also act as a vital link between the residents and the police. In the event of an emergency, the QRT assists in contacting the police and ambulance with an average response time of 3 Minutes.
Recently, the RWA introduced the ‘Nobrokerhood’ mobile app, further enhancing its security measures. There has also been a significant increase in the number of cameras in Suncity. Approximately 80 cameras are monitoring the entire E block, F block, the periphery road and parts of C and D block. These cameras have been funded through the Value-added Service(VAS) charge which is collected from the residents. The guards and the security personnel stationed at the gates have been outsourced through a Security Agency ensuring high levels of training and competence at performing their duties.
The Suncity Residential Welfare Association (RWA) has made remarkable strides in enhancing the security infrastructure within our community. With their commitment to ensure the safety and the well-being of the residents, they are continually and tirelessly working towards creating a secure environment.
