Specially in service lanes
If I may say security is a cause of concern in service lanes of Panchsheel Enclave,I may not be wrong. Many guards, workers have lost their mobiles at night time. There have been instances of car jacking and accessories being stolen from the cars. The mischief mongers know that the Security Guards at the gate are usually sleeping through the night and this also is validated by footage on CCTV Camera. The service lane guard was found sleeping in one such footage. A thief, after ensuring that the guard is sleeping jumped over the gate of a house and decamped with mobiles and cash of two helper staff who were sleeping in stilt parking area. This happened at 4.30 a.m. On questioning the Security Guards, they replied that they have been asked to do duty for 24 hours. After all they are human and will need to sleep sometime. This was bound to happen. The reply was shocking but set us thinking on how can we change the system of Security.
I think to be secure there’s no need to make a Guard sit at the gates in the service lanes. They should be asked to roam around in the service lanes with a “danda”. Or on second thoughts, the gates inside the colony should be shifted to BRT and closed for the night. Then there won’t be any need of the guards during night at these gates because they remain closed during the night.
Secondly, the CCTVs, should be monitored on the mother TV screen, during night, in rotation by 3 – 4 guards. In case of finding any dubious movement, or sighting of a dubious person entering the colony is found, they can immediately inform the guard on duty there. It is also found that the gates in the back lanes are not closed properly at night. There is enough leeway for a thief to enter from there. If we don’t plug these loop holes, the colony will remain prone to thefts during night.
Let us try and seal all the entrances, big or small at night to be safe and secure.
