Lions Club Noida Shiva honoured eight women achievers from our sector with Nari Shakti Samman on January 14, 2024. Supporting the government’s initiative of Nari Shakti Vandan, this award function was supported by Nav Urja Yuva Sanstha. The awardees are Kanika Aggarwal (A-217) who is CEO of Mindpeers, a mental well-being platform; Asha Sharma (B-31) who is the bridge champion of India; Dr Usha Ranjan (B-255) who supported hundreds with medical advice during the COVID pandemic; Manisha Seth (D-5) who taught voluntarily at a school for underprivileged children for 25 years; Sukshmlata Mahajan (D-67), who is a Hindi writer and retired teacher; Deepa Singh (D-142) who is twice-awarded Principal of Girls Govt School at Delhi; and Gunjan Jain (D-166) who is a social activist. Anuradha Vyas, (yoga guru) and Aparajita (Club Bharatnatyam teacher) too were honoured. Organised at Indira Gandhi Kala Kendra, this programme saw dance performances by Aparajita on the theme of women empowerment as well as kids from the sector who are students of Club-26 teacher Nitin Sharma.
