After two years of pandemic, Navratri was celebrated in the sector with much pomp and splendor. For Dandiya at Club, members were happy as they got a chance to dress up in ethnic Gujarati mirror work which was full of bright and vibrant colors, embroidery and lots of accessories. They were looking very bright and glamorous. Even the kids were in their beautiful outfits ready for dandia and garba competition. To show their hidden talents and were excited to take part in different contests and dances.
It was a spectacular sight for the viewers and small kids playing dandia was just bliss. Many visitors were guests of the members and had come to the club as they had no other place to go. They were enchanted by the program and the food options available.
The ladies of the club committee were among the judges judging the contestants.
Durga Maa was welcomed by the sector by doing kirtan in different blocks. Some of them were fasting for all the eight days. Ladies arranged kirtan for all these days in C block. All the rituals were performed to worship all 9 avatars of devi in different houses.
Different musical instruments were played and ladies showed their talent by singing and playing the instruments.
Other group of ladies from other blocks also gathered together and did Durga Stuti paath. They had called professional dholak and manjeera player and danced on bhajans after the paath. Post that vrat food was served to all and prasaad and fruits was packed for everyone.
These 2-3 hours of sitting together with friends made the events very exciting.
